Sequoia National Park is home to some of the largest and oldest Sequoia trees in the world. We visited here to do some hiking and exploring and we were in awe the entire way through.
First of all, the drive! WOW! We suggest to stop at every viewpoint that you can while driving to and from the actual park. The rock formations, the views of the valley, the wildlife. All of it is gorgeous and worthy of a stop. When you finally do reach the park, you'll feel like you're in a whole different world. For one thing, you'll feel small. Itty bitty! Right from the gate, you'll be entranced by all of the giant Sequoias that surround the parking lot.
Though when we visited early afternoon, the area was packed with tourists taking photos. According to locals when you arrived their very early you will have the place to by yourself. So we keep that in mind! CONGRESS TRAIL and GENERAL SHERMAN TREE - my FAVORITE part of Sequoia! A highly scenic and casual two mile round trip hike confronting towering sequoias set upon a picturesque forest landscape! General Sherman is the largest tree in the world!
Sequoia National Park is adjacent to Kings Canyon National Park in California's southern Sierra Nevada mountains. It's known for its huge sequoia trees, notably the General Sherman Tree dominating the Giant Forest.
Keep in mind no cell service throughout the park. But overall, this section of the park is playful and colorful especially with the sun out in full bloom.
Sequoia National Park is worthy of 5 stars in my opinion. There's plenty of great sights and attractions all situated in a unique forest setting boasting the largest trees in the world!
